KZ1000p Exhaust? was created by MtStateMike
I am wondering if anyone has put a 4 in 1 system on a KZ1000p with the floor boards? Most of what I have been told by some factories is that the floor boards will not allow the 4 in 1 to fit. Has anyone tried or actually done it. If so, which system did you use?

I wound up with a V&H header designed for a KZ1000-J (1982) for my KZ1100A.
No one would commit to suggesting it would fit; Vance & Hines said that it wouldn't. I chanced it anyways.
Though it touches the frame (barely) in a couple places...it fit! My engine runs pretty cool, and the pipes haven't blued beyond light gold; that after a very hot summer, and around four thousand miles.
Running the header made a HUGE performance difference on my bike! :)

Thanks for the response. Are you using the floorboards on your bike with it?

Not sure if available for a KZ1100A. For jetting about town, and leaning into the curvy outskirt roads, the pegs are great. I really like the sport-bike thing; removed the Vetter package when I bought the bike way, way back in 2000. It handles awesome-better without that stuff.
If you can get a header to work with your system, you won't regret it...except when you hop that just-too-tall curb for the first/last time, and have to ride on some gravel road.

FWIW, I plan to modify my stock exhaust. One of my mufflers rotted off, the other one can't be far behind, so I plan to get a pair of Cherry Bombs and stick on there.

Buddy of mine did the same with this Speedy, sounds pretty good!
