'82 KZ550 LTD Exhaust options. was created by JDShapp21
I'll start with a little background first. I bought this '82 KZ550 LTD not long ago for $300. I'm already in the process for fixing its wiring problems, but so far it appears to be mechanically sound. The person that had it before was intending to turn it into a bobber. That being said the original exhaust was either bad or he decided it wasn't needed. Eitherway the exhaust pipes were cut around at the joint on the 2 to 1 on either side of the bike.
Personally the noise wouldn't bother me, but I can't run straight pipes here and I know that this isn't a good idea without doing adjustments. So for now I'm looking for peoples suggestions. I currently have a '78 KZ650 C2 thats a project, and it happens to have a Kerker System K exhaust on it. Is there anyway to repurpose the 650's exhaust for the 550? If not then I'm open to suggestions on a good aftermarket exhaust just in case I strike out on finding anything useable at the local motorcycle salvage place?

If your headers are fine, you might be able to use Dunstall replica mufflers from some of the on-line places, such as JC Whitney or J&P Cycles, etc. Here's a photo of verner-650's bike w a set.
