Because that would be fibbing. :)

The 82-83 650-CSRs have Mikuni BS32 carburetors. All he had to do was up the size of the jets - according to his info, he went one size bigger. Those CSRs have the same frame, carb holders, airbox, & airbox ducts as the 750-4s. So a guy could swap in a complete 750 engine.

Here in Houston, Texas, there are so many people that the demand for parts is high. This drives the price up. I doubt that I could have found a complete engine for less than $300. and then I wouldn't know the condition either.

So does anybody know the lift for the 750 cams?

Thought you might find it interesting to see what I found inside the engine. A previous owner must have let the engine set up for years with moisture within the cylinders. The walls have severe corrosion and pitting. You can even see an area where an oil control ring made an impression in the wall. And then there is one gigantic spot where a deep piece was missing from the cylinder wall - mayby when the engine may have been stuck, and a ring pulled the material from the wall. There is no wonder the engine used oil. And this caused considerable carbon build up on the piston tops. One surprise was that it appeared that something must have gotten into the combustion chambers and caused damage to the pistons. No damage was showing inside the combustion chambers. I have put over 25,000 miles on this engine in the last 5 years. I knew the compression was not up to par, but I had no idea what I would find until looking inside the cylinders with a special scope. After seeing this, I decided to do something about it.
