I have this one? Engine # KZTOOAE112367.
It came from a legends or dwarf car from 15 years ago.
It is not black at all, probally LTD.
Has the smog head. The cams have the 32 teeth sprockets.
It is oily and dirty and on the ground.
Before I tear into it, I am hoping it is Mark II.
I will be selling cases and the crank.
And are the tranny's beefier?
Thanks for any info.

I believe the ltds got the heavier cases in 79 then the big pin crank like the regular mkII motors in 1980.
Ive heard the trans had heavier gears
If yours has the 32t cam sprockets Im gonna guess 80 ltd since its not painted

That would make it a j-series motor if it was in an 81,motor mounts and head would be completely differant.gd4now wrote: Do by all means look for the additional braces on the cases, but the engine number you posted - KZTOOAE112367 - appears to fall within the range used on the '81 KZ1000-C4

MKII's did not always have what is thought of as MKII motors either. I have had 2 79's that did not have the extra ribbing.

Ya, it could be a police bike motor.

Thanks for all the info so far.
Here are the pics.
I have no idea were it came from.
Only that it was in a small dwarf or legends race car.
I did not tell the kid what these "popy A" grind cams were or
that ported head with the bigger intake boots was anything good!
It was full of and well oiled sitting there. crank spins just fine!
As soon as my Son lifts it up on my bench, I'll open it up.
Thanks for the info.
