i have a 2006 R1 motor. but its pretty tall with all its doodads/carbs/airbox.
plz 1000cc 180hp is a bit too much for me.
i would like to have some power but not increase in size. like a quad 750 motor is huge.
i only weigh 140lbs

What condition is your engine in now?
Have you done a compression test?
Does it use oil?
Is it all tuned up,carbs synced?
If all the above checks out there are two areas you can improve within the stock rpm range.
And those are cylinder pressure and airflow.
Since performance parts are virtually nonexistent for the 750 twin you are limited.
Mac makes exhaust systems.
Ditch the cv carbs for smaller slide carbs.
I've read that using an exhaust cam with more lift and duration on the intake side perks things up.
And to raise cylinder pressure you can have the head milled, because no off the shelf high compression pistons are available.
When an overhead cam head is milled it will retard the cam timing.
To correct this the cams have to be degreed.
This is accomplished with slotting the bolt holes on the cam sprockets.

85mm big bore pistons for the 350/400 Yamaha Big Bear/Warrior, Yamaha 350 Big Bear sleeves, and appropriate machine work will get you to 885cc. That will help your low and mid range.

Or you could cheap out and buy my high compression Venolia pistons for standard bore, but you aren't getting my cams or Kerker exhaust

tinlizzie37 wrote: Hi Rab, Instead of wasting your time trying to make that two cylinder run, sell it and get a KZ 650 or KZ 750. They will run the pants off your two cylinder. The 650s and 750s rev much higher and have more horse-power. There are " make-em go fast products for the 650 and 750 KZs, if you want to spend a lot of money. My stock KZ will out run quite a few bikes, 3even though it,s 30 plus years old. Good luck, and don't waste your time with that boat anchor. Bob

Instead of wasting your time trying to make that little bitty four cylinder run, you should sell it and get a ZX11 or ZX12. They will run the pants (and everything else) off your tiny four cylinder. The ZXs rev much higher and put out massive horsepower. My (non) stock ZX11 and ZX12 will out run "most" bikes. Good luck and don't waste your time with that tiny four cylinder boat anchor.

Catch my drift? :P

I ride my 750 twin most of the time so I can keep my license :woohoo:

If you go to the site I linked above and look around, I'm pretty sure there was a discussion about using 36mm Flat Slide carbs. I think they are $400-$600 a set.
