So I was looking at my bike... was created by antoniobanderas
No eBay APP ID and/or Cert ID defined in Kunena configuration.. And the damn ignition timing advancer is missing. My question is will it hurt the bike if I ride it without the advancer for a while? Also does anyone know where the heck I can find one of these things?

This is the only one i have found I am pretty sure it is what i need.

Well I am assuming that the advancer comes out of the right side of the engine under a cover. When I got the bike the cover was broken off but I didnt think anything of it. There appears to be a cam lobe coming out and I can rub my finger all the way around it. There are also 4 wires coming out of the case that run to the ignitor.

The bike is in a friends garage so I can not take any pictures.

What bike are we talking about year...model...size...

with the point mount plate or a DYNA-S plate on you cant see the advancer....it would be hidden behind this plate. really dont know what you have going on.....

You probally got a fully advanced drag race unit. These guys would weld a stock unit to fully advanced so it would be 25 to 40 degrees fully advanced timing.
These guys used car starters on the big crank end. And did not use stock 700-800 rpm idle speed.
If it is welded solid, the advance unit. It is from a drag bike engine.

Cam lobe.... ?
Pictures required...

In either case (OEM or Dyna), ignition advance resides behind the ignition timing plate.

OEM Ignition (Points & Condensor)

Dyna-S (Electronic Ignition Pickups)

Look through the timing plate top hole for advancer marks...
