Well today I took my multimeter and try to measure the resistance of my spark plug caps. Bike is 100% stock as far as I know. For my surprise the resistance was zero (0) ohms. The only information I can read on them is: "NGK Made in Japan".

Researching at NGK web page, I found this:

Attachment sparkplugcovers.JPG not found

Looking at my spark plug caps...they are VERY similar to the NON RESISTOR caps.

Since I am using B8ES non resistor plugs...it is OK/safe? :unsure:

It's perfectly okay and safe to run zero resistance throughout the entire secondary loop:
Solid metal core spark plug wires;
Zero resistance caps;
Non-resistor spark plugs.

Where resistance is desired to reduce electrical interference (such as in radio reception, for instance), it's okay to run one and only one resistor component in the secondary loop:
Either resistor plug wires OR resistor caps OR resistor spark plugs.

Combining more than one resistor component in the secondary loop will reduce spark quality.

Kawasaki elected to use resistor spark plug caps as the one resistance component.

I prefer running zero resistance in the secondary loop, using solid core Dyna plug wires, which come with pre-fitted non-resistor caps, and non-resistor spark plugs. However, this probably causes some grief to nearby boom-box listeners.

Sorry, steell :lol:

Good Fortune! :)

On my KZ650-C1 the sparkplug caps and the sparkplugs are all non-resistor type. They have been that way for the past 35+ years. Ed
