Hello I have a 1981 CSR 1000 M1 and need to replace the cam plugs. I have purchased a new gasket and plugs . I need to the the torque requirements for the valve cover . Does anyone have the clymer manual specs? Also the tech at Z1 told me to keep it dry and clean .What are your thoughts?

On the valve cover I always just start in center and work my way out to each side to keep from warping the cover,I dont worry about torquing them just use a 3/8 drive ratchet.
I also use my old stand by copper coat on both sides of the papar gasket,a little clear ryv smeared across the bottem of the cam plugs generally doesnt hurt either(just a little so it doesnt squeeze out inside of motor)

Use 3-bond or Yamabond #4 on the plugs for best results. No need to put sealer on the gasket. I think the spec for torque is 5.5ft/Lb or 66 Inch/Lb
