81 KZ1000 J seal question was created by ZeroRain
Alrighty!! So this weekend I took the kz for its first real ride. I ended up going about 150 mile round trip on her. She rides great, tons of power, rpms are a tade high with the current 530 gearing. But my biggest problem is the oil leak I discovered. So i get down to camp and see that the whole suspension is covered in a thin layer of oil, I freaked and checked the oil level. I only lost about an 8th of oil. Couldn't find where it was coming from. So I added some to it and come Sunday I headed home. Pulled into the drive and instantly started looking for the leak. Its coming from behind the sprocket cover. I pulled it off to find a nice clean trail running from the clutch push rod!! Sigh of relief. haha. well I pulled up oem kaw parts to see a breakdown of it. They are showing a washer and nut on the rod, all I see on mine is an oil seal similar to a rear main.. Any ideas on a part number?

Blast it Kraz! I was just looking at the actual case diagrams and seen it, lol. Turns out this seal is the 92049-1017. Z1 doesn't look like they have it. Anyone ever use Schnitz motorsports? They have one in stock.
