APE CAM CHAIN IDLER

I need a good opinion on the APE CAM CHAIN IDLER . Its about time for me to replace mine and I was doing research and I found ape has a nice looking peice for $129 and the cheepest stock idler I found was for around $138 . Does the APE require modifaction to fit because that would explain the cheeper price which would make it not worth it. Thanks.

Yes its red. I was also looking at their stock replacement idler I think their pt# Is 12057-001hp with idler spacer blocks pt#z1bl1000 it looks to be a better quality part than a stock replacement.

the red adapter/Idler allows the use of a GPZ1100 or 1000J model cylinder head on the earlier KZ900 / 1000 lower end. Its not for a KZ head.

I would get the 12057-001

the solid mounts are a bit noisy compaired to OEM rubber ones. I would use OEM.

Whats your opinion on the ape 12057-001 vs a standard oem idler?

I would use it in mine....just not the metal mounts....I have a OEM in mine now! APE is a good product.
