1982 KZ1000K FITMENT

Guys,

I'm new to this forum, so I apologize if I'm posting this topic in the wrong area. Currently I'm planning a rebuild on my fathers 1982 KZ1000K LTD and I'm just curious if parts from a 1982 KZ1000J would fit. I'm looking at a Vance & Hines exhaust thats listed on a website as fitting the 1982 KZ1000J but it doesn't say anything about fitting the 1982 KZ1000K version. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated. I'm assuming parts between these two bikes could be swappable but just need to be sure before ordering.

Hey Muggz. At least for the stock type parts, get yourself a Parts Catalog for your model. I have one for my 82 J and use it all the time to check the compatibility of parts. You can also visit the Kawasaki website and obtain P/Ns and then do your comparison for interchangeability. That being said, alot of the parts are interchangeable, but you need to know which ones.

I am almsot positive that the exhaust will be the same.
