I've had a few enquiries about my slave cylinder fitting to the standard Z1R cover.
I used a GPZ (ZX for USA) 900R slave cylinder and a ZX1100 master cylinder, the critical part is to ensure the slave cylinder is central with the clutch actuator rod.
If its not central the cylinder will leak.
The Clutch cylinder line was made specially, note how it routes past the starter motor.
I don't have a drawing of the adapter dimensions so the adventurous types will need to do some prototyping, I used a 3mm thick ali plate, I did file some of the slave cylinder lettering on the face side and you will notice a slot where the cable outlet is.
If you have other questions let me know, but I don't want to remove it again unless it is urgent, enjoy.

P.S I do travel a lot for work and at times my responses will be delayed.

Good job Bozo. I see you used the mid 80s 3 bolt style slave. I ended up with a '97 2 bolt style from a ZX9r. Will look at this a bit closer.

Mark, there was no ball bearing on the slave that I know of. I round the rod at the end so it sits
In the piston dimple, the rod length was about right but you will have to experiment, the piston should be
all the way in but allow2 or 3 millimeters for clutch expansion when hot.
To align the rod I used the outer hole on the cover, I fitted a plate roughly cut but with the two counter sunk
Mounting holes and tried to draw a centre point using the existing big hole as a guide then I positioned the slave
and mounted it. Unfortunately the first plate was out by a mm (the slave leaked). The way I check the centre was with blue dye on the end of the rod, so I then made a second plate (easy by this time) and it was spot on.

Typing on my IPOD is a joke, I forgot to mention, the slave has to sit flat on the plate
you need to make cut outs and remove the outer writing on the slave with a file. The
side cover is not modified in any way, so it can go back to standard.
I was supprised at how easy this mod was and I'm still kicking myself for not doing it sooner.
Because my Z1R had an original set of handle bars I had to buy a new MX set (lower) to
fit the master cylinders under the fairing, good luck.
