Haha!!! I was about to sink two tapcon screws Into said piece for same "fresh meat" theory....Street Fighter LTD wrote: If totally F--k uped. In the past I have TIG welded a bolt or piece of steel to a ruined bolt so I have fresh meat to grab on to to remove it.

Think I'll give the interesting looking sears-socket set, or my new vice-grip pipe wrench a try first
though, BUT, it is nice to hear I'm not the only one to jump to such extremes in similar situations!!
Thanks guys for all suggestions!!

and as always it becomes a give-n-take situation as I've discovered a VERY rusted section of the exhaust pipe at the bridge between the two sides where I proceeded to create an aproximate 1" crack as I was jiggling it free from the head.
I"ve decided I'm simply going to use some JB-WELD to patch this until I get a little more time on my hands to cut it free and weld in a new piece....
but for now it's beginning to feel like there is more of the bike in the house than there is ON THE ACTUAL BIKE!!
(lemme tell you how happy this makes the wife)...
more pic's to come, but both my phone AND internet are acting screwy...
