Oil Leaking was created by 750Jack
hi,
I got a 1980 kz750 ltd about a month ago and I dont really have any knowledge of motorcycles but im trying to learn. just got back from a ride and saw this leak. Is this possibly just some leaky gaskets or possibly (but hopefully not) something more severe. Any help is appreciated.

Looks like its leaking from up top and running down, take it to the car wash and scrub it up really good and start looking for leaks B)

It comes from the cylinder meets the engine block?
And yes cleaning it and really checking the source with flashlight is the way to go. The tachometer cable where it goes into the cylinder head, that´s a normal oilleakage place.

like Wireman says, clean her up, & let er dry, then dust the area liberaly where you think its leaking from, with some baby powder, then start er up & start looking for the leak, you"ll be able to pinpoint it like that, then you can blow, or hose off the powder with no harm done....Pete

The spray on foot powder works good for this too. It's water washable, in case you spray in tight areas.
