THAT SMELL.... burning clutch was created by phishphan
My 1982 Kz 550 C3 has a slipping clutch. I was wondering, could that be from an improper adjustment, i.e. when the clutch handle is released, could the clutch be only partially released due to that adjustment screw in the throw out bearing. Also, if it is the clutch going bad, does anyone know where i can find one... ebay is a no go... HELP... i can;t accelerate properly without the clutch slipping and revving...

If you have the owners manual (look under the seat) it will tell you how to adjust the clutch. If you don't have a manual try to buy one.
There are a few places that tell how to adjust a KZ clutch online. One is here, it is for a 650. Probably work for you too.

also, check your play at the clutch handle...it SHOULD NOT be tight against the adjustment. alittle slack in the handle is proper. i had this happen once. adjusted it, worked great.
