Oil is the lifeblood of these bikes.
Roughly, what is the cost of the chemical analysis? Ed

built408 wrote: I don't know about you guys but i was told NEVER to use synthetic motor oil for these older bikes because it eats up the clutch plates. I was told by multiple reputable sources DO NOT USE SYNTHETIC OIL unless you have a new modern clutch. I was also told to use Castrol 10w-40 4t non synthetic which meets JASO MA. You can nit pick the small stuf or you can stick with what works.
Synthetic works GREAT in these bikes! I've been using it for 6 years. BUT it MUST be JASO-MA certified, such as Mobil-1 Racing 4T. So, if for example you use plain old Mobil-1 CAR oil you are asking for trouble. I also agree that Castrol 10w-40 4t is a very good choice for KZ bikes. Ed

All crap. Amsoil syn is just about the best bike oil there is.
The thing that ruins bike clutches is the "friction reducing additives" junk the oil makers throw in (molybdendum disulphide) to try to con people into thinking it "replaces" the ZDDP they took out.
