Cracked generator cover, is it repairable? was created by Bigberst89
I had a little accident and cracked my generator case, it doesnt look that bad, is there anyway I can fix it? Or and other kz models that I can look for to replace it with?

I'd call around to the welding shops, some do really good work.
Maybe next time get some "Case Savers" www.fastfromthepast.com used to carry them, and I believe www.redlinecycle.com or www.americanclassix.com do.

I wore through the bottom of mine getting frisky in the local hills roads. Had it welded/linished/polished...you couldn't even see where if i didn't tell.

Thanks guys for the replies, Not sure if this is a dumb questyion or not but, Is oil suppossed to run through inside of the cover? Some people have been telling me I might have done more damage then just the cover. Is this true?

There's some oil inside the cover.
Instructions as to removing the cover suggest placing a catch pan underneath to catch the oil.
Am guessing KZ1100 follows suit, but here's a link to the KZ1100 manual:
