Billet Cam Plugs was created by filztoy
Anyone have any advice on installing billet cam plugs? Should I put a little sealer at the top of the plug where it meets the camcover gasket?

i use a thin film of rtv sealant, then put the cover on snug so nothing squeezs out. next day i torque it down.
76 KZ, frame gusset work,1200CC.Ported by Larry Cavanaugh, 1.5mm.over intakes, Carron Pipe, ZRX12 rear end, and seat,96zx9 front end.

Me too , plus a little bit on bottom before I push them down into the groove. Just wipe off and excess

do you use RTV on all cam plugs, or just the billet ? I just installed my gasket & cover dry, as suggested on another thead...Pete
1980 LTD 1000..,1976 LTD 900, have the 1000&900 now. the rest are previous= 1978 KZ 650 B.., 1980 Yamaha XT 500..,1978 Yamaha DT 400.., 1977 Yamaha yz 80..,Honda trail ct 70.., Honda QA 50...5-1/2 hp brigs & straton CAT chopper mini bike...3-1/2 hp mini bike (WHEN GAS WAS ABOUT 45 CENTS A GALLON)!!!!

I installed mine dry and absolutely no leaks. I called z1 and they recommended no sealer on the billet cam plugs.
