Kick starter not turning engine was created by KowalskiCW
Hey guys I've tried searching but cant find anything on fixing the kick starter so I'm asking for help. Mine just doesn't turn my engine. It's like kicking air. It barely worked when I bought the bike but did...now it just doesn't work at all. What is the problem? Can I fix it with out taking too much apart? I have electric start but nothing is as fun as kick starting a bike!
Thanks

This may be a stupid question, but you wouldn't happen to have the clutch lever pulled in when you're trying to kick it?

Try adjusting the clutch,it works along with the kick start lever to start the engine.

Well don't I feel stupid! I thought you HAD to hold the clutch in to start it so I said just went and didn't hold it and she kicked over in 3. Sometimes you just gotta suck it up and admit how dumb ya are. Haha thanks guys.

Welcome to the club. The good news is you didn't screw up and take the bike to a dealer. They probably would have bypassed the clutch lockout switch, told you never to pull in the clutch when starting, and charged you $300. :woohoo:

BTW, other members of this not so exclusive club (including yours truly) have done worse. ;)
