Carefully follow FSM procedure.
As many have experienced, a mistake can easily result in bent valves.
Good Fortune!

Sometimes if the local dealer is not a complete POS, he will let you swap him your old shim for a different size with a $5 bill on the side.....
Of course, finding a dealer who is not a POS is like trying to find an honest politician. Try chatting up the kid at the parts desk or one of the mechanics.... they may take pity on you. YMMV

The 750 twins take a 32 mm shim which is no longer made anywhere. Z1 Enterprises stocks some used ones when they can get them, so specific sizes are always iffy. People sell them on ebay sometimes for about $15 apiece plus shipping.RustedAce wrote: Looking to go over valves this week. Wondering if anyone knows where to get shims individually. I believe these for a Fiat 124 engine are 32mm. You can ask them.

If you use a different type, make sure they are hardened shims or they won't last too long.
