Hard to get into neutral was created by 80kz550A1
Okay so recently my bike has been hard to get into neutral. I have to really pull up on the shifter. Or sometimes it will go right in. Could this be something to do with the clutch? My bike does have some rattling at idle but I assumed it was the primary chain.next thing I want to do is install a manual cam chain tensioner and check cam clearances.

-check valve clearences
-check and adjust clutch(cable and rod)
-probly wasting your money on the tensioner

What grade and type of engine being used? Most "Car Oils" are not kind to wet plate motorcycle clutches as they have friction modifiers. The popular oil to use is the Shell Rotella, or oil that is rated to use in a Diesel engine.

I am using rotella 15/40. Also I just got a new tach cable from z1 enterprises (mine vibrated loose and the cable fell out. My tach works but jumps around, makes a weird whirring noise above 1500 rpm and won't go higher than 7000. Oh yea I just got bar end mirrors from z1 enterprises and they are crap. I stripped out the threads while tightening the mirror. Definelty not worth the money.

I can not express how important it is to oil cables they will leave you stranded if not maintained. If done properly you will dump oil in from the top until it comes out the bottom then hang for a bit to drain. Don't forget to grease the clutch actuator.
