4-2 headers, any still being made? was created by high toned son of a bitch
Ok,
All I need is a set of pipes. I have been looking for a set of 4-2 "headers" for my 1000 for a little while and not able to find anything. I looked in the archives and saw a set made by Jardine, but few and far between.
On a engine with aftermarket ignition, different carbs, and K/N pods:
Is the power gain much different between the 4-2 style like the Jardine (1&4, 2&3) or a different type with cylinders (1&2, 3&4) paired togather?
Is the sound different between the two styles?
I like the sound of my 4-1 but am needing the symmetrical look of a tip on each side. I cannot see any way to run a y-pipe off of my 4-1 to be able to split it to the left side of the bike. It angles to hard to the right to be able to bring it back around
My 4-1 has a Megaphone style tip with no baffle. Where can I buy these megaphone style pipes at? Last resort I was going to buy a set of "Megs" car tips and use them.
ANy pipes off of these newer bikes come close to fitting? I see 636, Ninja, etc. headers on Ebay all the time CHEAP, but not too many old KZ stuff. Is the exhaust pipe spacing the same by chance?
Been looking at this thread and this is what I would like to have. The megaphone on my 4-1 looks like what is on JTMmuccolluchs bike, but I don't have a baffle. I want this style on each side.
Thanks,
Mike

Mike:
Check with www.denniskirk.com as they still list a chrome Mac 4into2 setup for your bike for $300.00+

1974 900 Z1 modified to look like a LTD , some engine mods. But I still have all the original parts.
1977 1000 project bike
1972 H1 project bike
If pro is opposite of con, then what is the opposite of progress?

Watch eBay...
I've seen a number of factory 900-1000 LTD Jardine sets on there. Of course there are none now:( One guy has a partial look alike set.
I've bought two REAL nice sets off there at less than $200.00 shipped.
No they aren't for sale either;) I keep an out for you too. Good luck.
Pat
Here's the ebay set. I wouldn't touch them at that price and condition.

maybe some police bike pipes from someone going to a different setup? Should not be too expensive.
