Hi all, I am wanting to pull my tach and cap the hole though I am leaving the little stem in, any thoughts?

That is pretty much my plan as well. On a side note, electrical tape wrapped around the stub of the broken cable does not hold up worth a damn.

I couldn't find a M18 bolt so I welded a plug into the end of the threaded part of the tach cable. Clean solution and best of all free.

Seems like an ordinary 02 sensor plug would work (m18x1.5)? It would need to be drilled for the stub, but I think it might work. I'm needing to plug mine so I'll report back if it works.
This is what I'm thinking:

i took the threaded end off of the cable, glued a resized penny into it, then just used it as a cap .
works fine. no stem used.
or u can just buy a block off from verious supliers.

Just curious why people are blocking theirs off, are you all running digital tachs or something? Mine's leaking a little and I was just curious before I replace the oring/seal.
