kz 1000 ltd clutch 1982

i bought this old basket case ..trying to fix it up ..took it on its mayden voyage today...ran bad but still haven't cleaned the carbs or cleaned oiled or even looked at the timing advance ..BUT i have the clutch will not disengage ..i've set up the cables to the max...stll nothing ...when idleing if in neutral and u put in first it stalls right out ..unless u get a rolling start?? just wondering if anyone else has had this problem

Should probably add "clutch push-rod adjustment" to the to-do list.
