Cam Chain and Tensioner was created by Drooz
I'm looking to replace the cam chain and tensioner on my '77 kz1000. Is there anything else I should consider at this time and where can I find all the parts needed?

Any other advise would be appreciated! ;) B)

The engine is internally stock. That may be changing soon, but for now...

Why replace a perfectly good manual tensioner with a more expensive after market manual tensioner? If you have run out of travel with the plunger, the cam chain and probably all the idlers needs replaced, not the tensioner.

If it was a J motor, it would be a different story. Not a KZ with a peanut or even a "so called" heavy duty chain.
