A: Hey Jim, its about 13/16 in diameter and the length is 10 1/2" unthreaded area and 11 1/2 to the tip. If using this for anything but the listed models, we do not guarantee fitment. No returns on this item. thanks Steve

Hi Spencer, I could use your longer axle!4TheKZ1000 wrote: Here is a wierd question. The bike I bought 1978 A2A kz 1000 had the factory swing arm extended. In doing so the rear of the swing arm is quite wider than a stock kz arm. It looks like they used a GPZ axle shaft. The axle I have now is to long by close to 2". What is the stock axle shaft length for a 1978 A2A spoke rim chain drive. I measured the one I have now and its close to 13" My new swing arm is 9" to 9 1/4" wide on the inside from side to side. Anyone know the stock swing arm width.
Thanks, Spencer
And I have a stock axle.

Someone has ground on this thing I guess to get clearence to fit a swingarm. They used a grinder or bench wheel to do it towards both ends creating flat spots on the axle. Would I run the axle, yes....but be aware of the issue.
