Exhaust leak question

Alright so my bike is running, just need to re-bench synch the carbs to achieve a lower idle. But it is still doggy from idle. I have to give it quite a big of throttle so it doesnt die from a start. Would this be attributed to the exhaust leak i have in my crossover pipe? It is a rather significant leak. I am not sure if that would affect the tune of the bike or not.
