Yes, you can use the parts from a kick start KZ650, there's a thread that covers everything needed here somewhere.

I used to have an car that had a crank handle. You could hand start the motor by sticking the handle in a hole in the front grill and pulling/cranking.
They dont make 'em like they used to ...... usually for good reason :laugh:
