better gas mileage with repacked baffle? was created by dano83-1100
I wrapped and repacked the baffle on Friday. It is much quieter and I sound much less like a hooligan. While riding this weekend it seemed to me there was a marked increase in MPG.

Is this possible?

The last time I filled up from half tank I had put on 97 miles. Yesterday when I got home I had just above 3/4 of a tank and I had 79 miles on the clock. That's seems to me like a pretty big difference.

absolutely. The engine was designed to run with a specific back pressure. Operating closer to design value will give you better efficiency.

Maybe you were using more throttle and enjoying the music more.

Less noise generally means less throttle.

I used to be playswithnitro but; it happens...
