Totally agree Mark. Anything is possible if you think outside the box, are resourceful enough and have the requisite skills. The trouble is on forums you can give advice as to how a repair can be made, knowing that "you" could carry it out, but not knowing if the recipient has the same skills and knowledge base as yourself.

It's the engine case that's broken MFolks...not the side cover...

Oh, now I see it. I was looking at the large cover that goes behind your, uh, opening.



Maybe you can replace the ignition cover and put a screen over the hole and say it's a vent for your ignition until you can get it fixed.

I'm with Mark Wing on this. That area is not structual and can be repaired with JB weld using the method Mark told you. I have had JB weld repairs last a very long time as long as the area isrepped correctly and made very CLEAN.
