KZ750 L3 rear wheel has the wrong part in it was created by staniel
For reference:
kz.bike-night.com/parts/E-6Rearwheel-hub-chain.jpg
(It's the same as the GPZ750 diagram on kawasaki.com)
I took apart my rear wheel to replace the bearings. It all went relatively well until I went to put everything back. My Clymer and Haynes manuals have the wrong info in them for the L3 model, which is a very strange bike.
In short, in referring to the link above, instead of part 92027B my wheel has an extra part 42036. It sits nicely inside the grease seal (92049) but leaves a strange space in there, and is definitely not the part drawn here.
Does anyone know about this strangeness? And, is it normal for these outer spacers to bear directly on the side surface of the inner race of the hub bearings?

Wrong part as in the part that is already there in my wheel isn't what's on any diagrams!
That's both of the little devils together. One measures 31mm, the other about 33. I put the clean one inside (makes sense, I think), and the other one snugs up nicely into the grease seal on the drive side.
However, there is also a significant space between the grease seal and the bearing if the seal only goes in as pressed in by the mystery part.
Odd, no? The dirty part really doesn't look like what's in the diagrams!

Exactly, and I don't have a 92027B, which is the part at the bottom of your image, whose number is off the page. Not the same! But the same length...
