kick starter removal question (76 kz900) was created by Rotten Egg
Hey guys,
Did a search, but no info.
I'd like to remove the kick starter cover on my '76 kz900 for polishing, and was wondering if it's as simple as un bolting it, or is there anything I should know about taking the cover off (like small pieces falling out, or return spring popping out)?
Thanks in advance,
Rick.

The job is simple as you say, just remove the four retaining screws. However, they are rarely loose and the two inner longer screws have dowels.
The hard part is removing without damage, as there is no place to evenly pry the cover off, mainly from the dowels. I usually attack from underneath there is nothing to fall out other-than the large return spring and an aluminium shroud.
RegardZ.

Thanks Garn.
Appreciate it.
Cool thing about sites like this, getting advice from half way 'round the world.

r u on the top , bottom, left or right half of the world?
the 2 dowels are on the right side, so that is the side that is likely to give u the mose trouble.
