It is an 'H' mate...from an H model. Produced for a single year...1980...Kawasaki first endeavor into mass production of a fuel-injected motorcycle. Based on the 1015cc powerplant...FI ports in the head. North America got the G model (looked like an LTD) while the rest of the planet got the H model...much nicer looking, IMO. This is a rare motor....deal with it appropriately. :)

Just to add to what Michael said you also have a MKII engine which the drag racing guys prefer due to the stronger engine cases.

Because the H was fuel injected, the head is different to all the bikes with carbs. You can adapt to use carb holders if needed. You would need to plug the injector ports in the head. Being a Mk II engine, you must ensure you match the cam sprockets to the crank - the Mk II engines used 32 teeth cam sprockets and a 16 tooth center section on the crank. The charging system is a little different too. The rotor and stator are unique to that bike, so you need to keep the cover, stator and rotor together as a matched set.

Thanks Jeff i will check these, the head that is on the engine has no injector ports and looks like it has been replaced with either a 900 or early 1000 with the top mounted cam chain tensioner, to set the valve timing is it the same way as if a normal engine using the 28th pin on exhaust cam sprocket or does it need to be done another way
Kind regards
Limp
