HELLO ALL:

I have a 1975 Z1900 and clutch is hard to pull back. I was told I needed to take the cover off where the cable goes into the engine and replace this plastic part with a metal/ball bearing thing from a 1980 LTD?????

Anyone know of this fix??? I know metal is better than plastic...

Appreciate any help here!

The existing screw type clutch actuator is probably dry and clogged with crusty old caked grease gunge.

Would remove, disassemble, clean and and re-grease the exiting screw style clutch actuator, which may be accessed by removing the sprocket cover.

Before removing the actuator, note its angle of attachment in relation to the sprocket cover when fully retracted (not being pulled by the clutch cable). Maintain the same angle when re-installing.

Good Fortune! :)
