I think this was a worst case scenario, it was about a 2-3 beer job. Your mileage may vary. I thought about buying just a muffler but V&H wanted like $270 vs the whole system for 330. Chome shop said re-plating is hard to do and they wouldn't guaranty the work. So a little googling found this product. they are on youtube as well. Here's before and after pic's.

BTW, anyone know what kind of shock that is? I want to fit a chain guard and that reservior is in the way. They work good tho.

Perhaps possible to attach the shocks upside-down.

Single walled headers on accessory exhaust systems usually discolor quite readily (if not treated before installation).

Where double-walled headers on a stock exhaust system have blued, they likely got really hot.

Am uncertain about which, if any, Kawasaki motorcycle models had stock single-walled exhaust headers.

Good Fortune! :)

The headers didn't bother me, the pipe was fugly. Yea, black was always on option.

It's not a matter of esthetics.

The bluing may indicate an over-heating condition that could result in serious engine damage. :pinch:

I didn't mean to sound like I didn't care why they were blue. Just that the pipe was ugly. Jetting is good now. Got rid of the Emgo pods, got K&N's. Stock baffle in place, was open. 120 mains, 117.5 pilots, plugs showing nice grey color. PO blued 'em while trying to jet with free breathing filters and open pipe. Thanks
