Was 2 into 1 exhaust stock? was created by DaddyJama
I've seen a few 80-82 2 into one exhausts for the 440/400 s
I was wondering if that came stock?
Mine is 2 into 2 right now but because of a rusted through cross over pipe, it runs like crap.
I like the 2 into 1 but I don't want to have to rejet it.. Can I bolt it on and go??

The 440B models were 2 X 1. I think that all of the others were 2 X 2.
Can't answer your rejetting question, but my best guess would be yes since the 2 X 1 should theoretically be more efficient than the 2 X 2 with crossover. But, then, I'm a lousy mechanic so the smart guys may have another answer.

The 400S, which had 2-into-1, had slightly leaner jetting from the 400D which had 2-into-2.
But those were older models than the 80-82 models.

The MAC 2-1 aftermarket pipes jet pretty close to stock which is another way of saying they don't flow any better than stock.DaddyJama wrote: I've seen a few 80-82 2 into one exhausts for the 440/400 s
