I think they are not compatible. Among the differences - the KZ650/750 use a primary chain, but the big boys use a gear. Here are a couple diagrams. The firs show the 650/750 trannies; the second shows the 900/1000 trannies.

(thanks ed) wondering cause the boy was looking at one on ebay for his 1000 that is back cut, but for a 650-750 we didnt know if it would work or not.figured you know
