Shift shaft oil leak

Shift shaft oil leak was created by jrjstuff
Hey guys, its been awhile since ive posted but its rebuild time soooo here I am again! I have a terrible oil leak from the shift shaft on my kz750 ltd. Do I have to split the case in order to fix that leak?

If you confirmed that the shift shaft seal is where the leak is coming from then, no. That is a really easy fix, drain the oil, remove the sprocket cover, pry out the old seal with a small screwdriver and replace with a new one.

my 1000 is leaking there also

Thats where I am ordering mine from friday. they have a seal kit for the 1000 comes with several seals I need not sure if it's the same for yours or not

I cheated on this one, not sure it will work. I took an oring a little smaller than the shaft, put liquid gasket on the area and pushed the oring on top of the liquid gasket. We'll see if it works! :pinch:
