Jets? was created by dizl27
So i just got my carbs apart to clean out. Im just curious how to check my jets and what size im supposed to be running. I live in southern california so i figure i might have what im supposed to be running. What is the size guys? I will be running straight pipe but i might put a baffle in to clean up the sound.

So i am still at it. I had the engine running when my exhaust ran 4 pipes into 2. Now that i have changed to straight 4 pipes it has not ran since. I am thinking i need to jet up but carburation has been my weak side of this build. Any suggestions to what sizes. I am also running pods. I have mk carbs not sure exactly what type. Pod opening is 1.5 inches. I ordered previously in a metric size but have know forgotten that size. All help is appreciated.

NOTE: Assuming timing, valve clearances, electrical/ignition timing is to spec.... ;)

Those appear to be VM24ss Carbs. With the pods and straight pipes I would think a good starting point would be as follows;

Pilot jet 17.5
Main jet 110 or 112.5 - may need larger with open pipes
Depending upon which needle is in the bike set to either the 3rd or 4th slot
for the 5DL31 - set it to the 3rd slot
all others on the 4th slot

For the new jets take a look at motorcyclecarbs.com
They have a lot of jets for our old bikes.

There are many locations to get them from - you might want to look at the vendor menu on this site.

You could also try any of these - keep in mind I have not visited all of these site recently so do not know what the do and do not have currently. I am sure there are others, this list is just what I have handy to pass on.
