Worth checking your valve clearances
If your manual says B8ES then go with it. Tweaking the air fuel mixture might help but from the colour of your plugs I would not think that lean is the cause of the problem you described above.

YUP - looks more like a minor carb or other issue than plugs - Like Mfolks says, the junk gas we are forced to use can confuse plug reading - I use non-ethanol premium in most of my stuff - a bit more cost - but far less fuel system and engine running issues...
