I'm installing 700cc jugs, VM24 carburetors (jetted for application), Head and cams from 750 4 cyl bike and I need some tips.
1.) Here is my parts list so far
4 pods (z1ent)
Valve seals (Z1ent)
Throttle cable (Z1ent)
Oil filter (Z1ent)
4 rubber guide rollers (cycle-parts.com)
Valve Cover Gasket (cycle-parts-called cyl. head)
Cylinder base Gasket (cycle-parts)
Shims
700cc head gasket (came with kit)
2.) Here is my procedure
Mechanical:
Go over 750 head, replace valve stem seals, etc
Replace rubber guide rollers
Remove exhaust, airbox, valve cover, cams, head, cylinders, pistons
Replace cylinder base gasket, install pistons and cylinder
Replace cylinder head gasket, install head
Time engine, adjust valve clearance with shims
Install valve cover
Install carb boots (with permatex)
Install carburetors with pod filters
Install throttle cable
Reinstall exhaust
Optional:
Replace cam chain?
Is there anything I'm missing (parts/procedure)? Can someone give me some advice as to what to do to check over the head, specs - etc???
