Hi everybody,

So I finished the rebuild of my 1981 KZ1000 (J engine) about a month ago and decided to open up the valve cover just to make sure everything was looking ok. When I did, I was surprised to find that there wasn't much oil in there. Some of the depressions around the valves had pools of oil, but others did not. My conclusion was that either I didn't have oil pressure or there was a blockage somewhere. I was able to check oil pressure the other day by tapping into the oil pressure opening with a hose barb and some clear vinyl tubing to verify that I had the recommended oil pressure. It checked out ok, so it must be a blockage somewhere between the upper case and the head.

So here is my question: Should I just pull the top end off and search for the obstruction or can I just blow compressed air into the pressure port to try to blast the obstruction out? Let me know your thoughts. Thanks in advance!
