another problem

sometimes when i crank my bike it cranks right up. but sometimes it just keeps turning over like its flooded. then my battery goes dead but if i let it sit for about a day itll crank right up. i own a 1984 zn1100 ltd. whats up with this.

alright i just got it home but after the ride it still wont start. we push started it. the battery is new bought about 1 month ago. the stator got replaced about 1.5 years ago. the bike sat from may 05-mar 06. any ideas?

I will start with the easy stuff first. Are you using the choke? How do the plugs look. If they are not new then I would replace them. Make sure they are the recommended plug and not just the cheapest one. Once it starts does it idle good?

alright cool...no choke, the plugs look good they are NGK. i am getting spark to them. once it starts it runs great. this bike is awesome but i am having one problem after another. i just put a trickle charger on it and it cranked up right away.

can anyone help i am at a loss.

Sounds like use of the electric start is causing enough strain on the battery to where it is not firing much or possibly at all. You might want to take your battery out and have it tested.
