Quality brands of gaskets?

Hey I wanna buy a gasket kit for my 1000. Online there are various brands available and no-name brands. I don't want cheap junk that will leak. What are good brands to look for?

How can I tell if a "complete" kit really has everything?

Is a stock head gasket adequate for 10.25:1 1075 pistons?

Comedic is a good brand and a stock head gasket won't work on a 1075.

cometic or vesrah,my old trick is to spray both sides of paper gaskets with copper coat,no matter what brand.
i sometimes spray only one side of valve cover gasket so i can reuse it once B)

I've had some problems as of late with Cometic. You might want to ask someone who recently used their stuff. I bought a top end kit for one of my MX bikes, the head o-rings were not the right size diameter and the copper exhaust washer didn't even fit into the cylinder. I spoke to a few others with the same problems, so IDK if they are getting parts from different sources than what they used to.

Maybe Vesrah is the way to go then.

What about the head gasket for 1075? I bet you guys can argue for hours about that

as long as you spray down both sides with copper coat you can make paper gaskets out of notebook paper! :woohoo:
buy a good 1 piece head gasket, pitch the center o-ring and fill the groove full of silicone let iy tack up really good before installing youll be fine B)

I had really bad results with Athena (gaskets disintegrated almost immediately on running). I'll never use them again.

You can get 1075 head gaskets from any of the piston manufacturers too. They include them in the piston "kits" and sell them individually.
