APE kickstart block off plates? (another 6 spd tranny question for the 650)

As previously discussed, the 550 6 spd tranny will swap into the 650 if the kick starter and its components are removed, then you use a 750 engine cover that didnt have the kick start (if you want to keep oil in the bike for more than a minute:P )
I was cruising around on KZZone and saw kickstart block of plates(part no=99211). would these work on the 650 as well as the larger bikes? if so, it could be a much easier part to get than a 750 non kickstart engine cover right?
thx
Scott

Was just out working on rear sets, and I had a good look at my engine cover while I was out there, I think the easiest way to block off the kick start "hole" would be to tap it (pipe thread) and put in a plug, theres a good inch of material that could be tapped, so it shouldnt be too hard to do.:) If I get a 6 spd, this is the route Im going to try out, and Ill update then if it works outB)

Maybe you could thread the hole and mount a brass spigot in there. You could tell everyone that you carry some warm buttered rum in the engine housing.

Ok, lunchtime is over -- back to more serious activities!

You could always just use the engine cover from a newer KZ650, like an '83 CSR650. They didn't have a kick starter, but IIRC used the same gasket and will fit.

Please include pics of the entire operation, transmission parts swap etc., if you can. It would be facinating. Thanks.
