Drilled exhaust?
02 May 2006 22:25
I am just wondering if the end caps on my 1100 LTD have been drilled? I think so but am not 100% sure. If so what is the easiest way to plug them up? Kinda sounds like crap now.
Thanks,
Ron

Dude, that looks just like the back end of my bike, but with three holes drilled in the exhaust! Kaw lists the mufflers as single units, its components are not available separately. The easiest way to plug the holes might be with a welder. Replacement or fabrication, Mr. Doughboy.

Hey Rickman, Yeah I saw in the parts book only the 1 exhaust hole not 3 more, also saw no replacement caps. For the moment I screwed in some allen head screws.
Who ever drilled the extra holes did them crooked, So the screw heads are a little crooked, looks kinda "Mad Max" with the large heads on them. The holes were 10mm so I had to use 12mm screws to bite the metal.
I will just keep an eye out for a set of clapped out mufflers and pilfer the caps off of them. My exhaust sounds like it should now, oooh so much better too.
Thanks for the reply,
Ron
