does anyone know what the compression is supose to be at on a 81 kz550? or a round about to run?

The smaller engines typcially have a bit higher compression than larger engines with lower compression ratios. I suspect about 150 lbs/in per cylinder with no more than 10 lbs/in difference between cylinders. Hopefully a 550 owner with a manual will chime in. Check compression with the engine warm, throttle held open and all plugs removed.

Usable range is between 155 to 235 psi or less than 14 psi difference between any two cylinders.
