No wrap. I am a firm believer in letting the hot stuff breathe, and wrap or protect the stuff near the heat from getting hot. Wrap a turbo exhaust housing, and it will heat-crack. I have seen this personally many times. Wrap an exhaust system, and it will crystalize over time, because it can't breathe.

I second the Jet Hot Coating, as it gets done inside and out.

Just my opinion.

Keeping the gas hotter makes it flow a tiny bit better. It's a very old trick we used on turbocharged Corvair pipes that fed the turbo back in the 60's. I seriously doubt it would make a measurable difference on a bike, and it might even drop power a shade by moving the flow characteristics off optimum. It's a myth that "freer flow" on the exhaust side is always better, it has to match the engine flow characteristics.

The really good header designers actually know how to get the most power and design the headers to work with the bike engine the way it is. I think pipe wrap is for looks and if the pipes are ratty and already rusted, makes sense.

I have also read that pipe wrap will make the pipes rust like a mutha.

Thank's for the feedback everyone. I think I am going to wrap them just because they are a bit rusty and have been knocked around a bit. I will post some before and after pics.
