I have been searching for clearance specs on my zn700 with no luck. I have found discussions, but no one seems to have a definite for sure answer. I cant even find a book specific to this bike. Can someone please tell me the exact specs for it? the bike has 20k+ on it and looses power the hotter it gets, so i know they are too tight. I got a shim kit and am ready to go, but need the settings so i can get it right the first time.
Below is an excerpt from:

What are valve clearance for the KZ750 and KZ700 Spectre?
Those bikes both use .08mm -.18mm clearances. You can measure it with the lobe pointing away from the bucket.
Check the tensioner when you have the valve cover off. If you can push down on the chain and have it lose tension then you know the tensioner is bad. They tend to wear out at about 13k on those motors.
Could also Google KZ700 valve clearance.
I looked on ebay, but failed to see an FSM for KZ700.
Am unfamiliar with how closely the specs may compare with KZ750.

If not already done, might check into this one, maybe ask seller to confirm specific included coverage of ZN700.

Saw somewhere that shop manual #99924-1035-03 supposedly covers 1984 ZN700 A1.
If not already done, might check into this one, maybe ask seller to confirm specific included coverage of ZN700.

That is the correct FSM for your bike. Buy it. The edition you need is Kawasaki part number 99924-1035-03.

These manuals from this seller get rave reviews from those who have obtained them.
This seller is also reportedly prompt and good about answering inquiries from prospective buyers.
If in doubt about or desire confirmation of specific model coverage, would ask the seller.
