Chopping \"J\" Block was created by Duck
What is the difference in 'J' piston and KZ piston wrist pin centerline relative to the top of the piston?

Alternatively, how much do I need to take off a 'J' block to use KZ pistons and bring the top back up to 'normal' in the bore?

As best as I can tell it's looking like 1mm will do the trick.
Confirmation???

Is it OK to take this mm off the top or should I pull the liners and take it off the bottom?

Thanks,

It is closer to .055". If you take it off the top, you will make the o'ring groove shallow.

If you are using K pistons in a J motor, you will be down on compression because the J combustion chamber is larger, and the valve pockets are not right for the J head.

Jay-

Thanks. I'm not doing anything yet. Still thinking about what to do. Pistons are in the photo. I'll try to measure how much of the J chamber they fill this weekend. I've already been advised to round off all the sharp edges on the top if I use them.

I may just save them and wait until a KZ motor turns up. They are very light weight.

Here is photo.
